No Supermarket in Lamu. Only Big shop in Lamu town offers self service. This shop stocks all kind of Foods, Sun Lotions, Spices, Ice Creams, Cereals, Detergents and many others .
Lamu Main Market
Lamu town has a food market which is open the whole week as from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. You can buy seafood mainly (fish), beef, local chicken, vegetables and cereals at a market price. Most food stuff come from the main land.
Seafood Dealers
There are fresh seafood dealers around Lamu town and Shela village: Lobster, Fish, Crab, Jumbo prawns, Calamari, Oysters and others. Seafood price is dynamic depending on the season. Always check on the Scale when buying seafood, some of them are doctored to give the wrong output.
